They got that good gumbo.....
The ONLY place in Greenville County Y'all will find Authentic Cajun & Southern Food! Great food. Great portions. Good prices. Great Value. Great flavor. Simply amazing. I've eaten here about 5 or 6 times and every meal has been amazing. I grew up in Mobile, AL and visit home and New Orleans as often as I can...I know Southern, I am Southern...When I say this place is authentic, I mean it's an Old Bay using, Gumbo cooking, remoulade serving authentic Southern Gem. They aren't afraid of seasoning but they don't use so much as to run off folks who don't appreciate spicy food. The Gumbo (served every month or so), Hushpuppies and Cajun shrimp-boil are incredible.Share review
Freshly prepared food, friendly people, reasonable prices. Many regulars were there when we visited.
Finally tried it and wish we didn't. Both the flounder and catfish were extremely thin and incredibly rubbery. I couldn't believe how chewy they were. Should not need a knife to eat a piece of catfish.Crab cake was average. Minimal crab used with lots of breading filler. Fries and coleslaw were decent. Sauces were not good. Overpriced in my opinion, even if it all had been good.
I ordered a jumbo shrimp plate with sweet potato fries. 1 order of crawfish and peppers. The I added a slice of German chocolate cake. It was good food but I can’t spend 35.00 plus a 5 dollar tip. I got home with a block of lemon cake. I just expected a little more for the price. A little bit dissatisfied but I might go back for small business supporter.
Not what I expected for the money that I spent. I spent $15 and got a $5 meal.
Try the Cajun boiled shrimp or the catfish fillets.
Cute little restaurant. The hushpuppies are the best thing I tasted here. The slaw had horseradish in it, and it was awful. The shrimp were not cleaned and the fish was tough and poorly battered. The crab cakes were falling apart and it was very frustrating. I may have caught them on a bad day.
Fantastic family restraunt - well done Connie
Great to support local establishments and this is the best seafood I've had in this area. It is small and seating is limited, but the quantity and quality of food makes up for this minor issue.
Quaint little place. Fried shrimp was very good...wife had fried catfish and it was good.
Best I've had outside of Louisiana or Texas. Perfect spices - not for faint of heart!
Great little place that gives you that ole mom n pop feeling. Would HIGHLY recommend Southern Catch... Combo Plates are great
Best southern Louisiana style food in South Carolina
The food was great, cooked to perfection. Service was good, only complaint is it was about 85 degrees in the restaurant. When I went back to the restroom, it had to be over 100!
Great seafood supper for all 4 of is last night!
Picked up a homemade Butterfinger Pie and it is insane delicious.
Locally owned, friendly staff, very reasonable prices, although the menu is not extensive, freshwater fish, shrimp, crab cakes, with fixings
Delicious fried catfish, fries, and hush puppies. Hubby liked stuffed crabs. 🐟🦀🍴🍽️
This was my first time ordering. I appreciated the patience and kindness of the woman who took my order. I tend to be indecisive and she was great! Catfish, fries and (in restaurant made) coleslaw were absolutely wonderful. This picture was taken after I had already eaten some. Portions were perfect for the price. Well done Southern Catch Seafood. If you felt my review and pictures were helpful to you, please don't forget to click the thumbs up icon. Thank you!
Great food. Great find.
Small restaurant could seat about 25 or 30. Food was good and served hot.
I am a true blue Mississippi catfish loving boy, and I was thrilled to hear that this catfish place was from a fellow Mississippian. I was however a bit let down when I actually got there. I like my air conditioning, this place is not and it was HOT. I did not care for their sauces at all, cocktail sauce was off and the tarter sauce tasted like its been sitting out in the heat all afternoon. The catfish breading was a bit thin and the fish was not crispy, maybe it needs more cornmeal and a bit longer in the fryer? I had to use a knife to cut the fish, you shouldn't need a knife to cut fried catfish. I think with a few small tweaks this place could do a lot more business. The most important are: air conditioning and heating, new sauce recipes and store them in the fridge, Better fish batter/deeper fry color/crisp. My family used to run a catfish house in MS and I'd be happy to share some recipes with the Southern Catch.
Oh man! The best blackened catfish ever! And their special was shrimp and grits. Don't eat the hushpuppies. You'll eat yourself sick if you do. And the slaw was awesome, too. Pricey (thankful I didn't pay), but great food. Hallelujah!
Incredibly great seafood. Nice portions and cooked to perfection.
Good food good price
Great food and friendly service!
Love this place! Crawfish tails and peppers are my favorite!Plus they understand my crazy husband.
Went here for the first time the other day. Crowded, 85 degrees, sitting at a table with strangers is not how I like to enjoy my food. It took thirty minutes for us to get two plates of food. Food and staff were great but a miserable experience for my small family.
I read reviews before coming here. I was completely happy with everything, service was friendly and timely. Food was delicious and not over priced for what we ordered and got. If I'm in town I'd definitely go again
My family and I are regulars at this restaurant for quite a while. Their catfish tacos are amazing and not greasy at all, the low country boil is flavorful with the right amount of spice, and their fried shrimp is tender, crisp, and lightly breaded. The house sauce is amazing on pretty much everything, especially on the shrimp and fries. They have weekly specials for extra variety and the staff is very friendly and kind. You might have to wait because of the small building, but it's well worth it for the quality and amount of food you receive.
Best slaw I've ever had. Popcorn shrimp fantastic!
WWOOWW, Double WOW! The fried flounder is the best I've ever had. If you need to pack some clothes and your toothbrush, make the trip to here and enjoy - absolutely a treat.
It's the only family-owned Gulf Coast style seafood restaurant in the Greenville area that I'm aware of. It's very similar to some of the little restaurants we used to go to in the Biloxi area. This restaurant is small, so there might be a wait if you come during peak times. It is worth the wait.
Pork belly tacos and fries 9.99 special. Great meal small atmosphere very friendly.
The customer service was amazing! They have a really sweet approach. However the fish taste was bland and that was disappointing for the price. I spent $60 and I bought 4 plates. My husband is big on fries and they weren't good either. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but it was my 1st and last visit. The 2 stars were only for the customer service!
The fried okra special was perfect!
Great service, coleslaw with horseradish has changed my life!!!! Fried fish filet is of the chain!
Amazing food, great customer service!! See you next trip!! Atlanta bound!!
No prices on their menu. I’ve eaten seafood from every coast in the country and I have never had a place give no pricing for even the drinks. The only thing with a price is if you order some fries after 4pm or substitute. When I asked they said it’s because the price of seafood fluctuates. Since when do catfish come from the ocean? Also, side items, kids plates, desserts etc should always be priced. My boiled shrimp wasn’t cleaned and was tasteless. It wasn’t worth my time or money. I don’t mind paying good money for good food, but I don’t want to pay a lot of money for food that definitely doesn’t seem to be quality.
This restaurant is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. Whenever I I need a special supper, this place comes straightaway to my mind. superb and diverse food and a rich cuisine.helpful team, and nice atmosphere. Also, the charge is honest. I sent my friends to this spot with no doubt.
Excellent food and great prices.
Good fried seafood. Limited menu. The spicy sauce is very good.
A great place to eat! If you are in the mood for good sea food look no further. The owners and staff are super nice and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. You can enjoy traditional fried sea food platters or try something different like fish tacos. They also have awesome homemade desserts. They offer daily and weekly specials too. Its a small cozy place with a local feel. Give them a try today.
The food is always great. I've seen others complain about the prices. They obviously don't understand the quality of the shrimp, catfish, etc., that they use here. But jeez, cook times are insane. When I worked at a similar restaurant in Charleston, I could feed this entire dining room in 15 minutes. Here, you have one table coming out every ten minutes. Just not cutting it. I know you can do better.
Food is always great and so is the service.
Great service and excellent food!
Wonderful fried catfish fillets. Very friendly service from the time you open the door to go in. Highly recommend their crawfishetoufee, which is unfortunately only available occasionally. Be prepared to take some home, the plate portions are huge.
A little pricey for an out of the way place but the food was very good and service was great. My husband and I enjoyed our meal. Not really busy for a Friday evening but well satisfying.
Nice little seafood restaurant, limited space and seating, but the food was fantastic. The fried pickle chips were the best I ever had!¡!
Very big servings. Fresh food at a low price. Best seafood place in the upstate.
